MTC has a proud history as a leader and supporter of new work and developing artists. We see our role in the community not just as a destination for great performance, but as a creative hub where artists are nurtured and developed, and new Australian writing is championed.
Through key initiatives such as the Cybec Electric play reading series, the newly expanded Women in Theatre Program, the MTC Connect partnership with Multicultural Arts Victoria, the Assistant Directors and Secondments program and NEON NEXT, MTC strives to ensure a prosperous and diverse landscape for theatre in Australia.
