Casting Assistant

Casting Assistant (fixed term contract)

We are looking for a flexible, supportive and highly organised individual to fill the role of Casting Assistant. This position will provide assistance and support to the Casting Director and liaise with various stakeholders.

You will have:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an Arts/Production Admin or Casting office
  • Knowledge of Artists currently working in the industry
  • Experience with contract negotiation, booking and scheduling travel and accommodation
  • Strong administration and communication skills

The role is offered on a full time basis for a fixed term of 12 months (with an option to renew).

Director of Marketing & Communications

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced leader to join the Company as Director of Marketing and Communications. This integral position will provide leadership to a team of up to 12 professionals to deliver a comprehensive marketing and communications strategic framework aligned to our Values and Strategic Plan.

You will have the following experience:

  • A recognised highly effective leader of marketing and communications teams that are collaborative and high performing
  • Demonstrated success in delivering comprehensive marketing and communications strategies aligned to organisation objectives
  • Innovation in audience development strategies and targeted market segment campaigns
  • Marketing and communication budget management against financial targets
  • Data trends and patterns analysis to improve marketing and communications strategies and provide recommendations to organisation leaders on business opportunities.
  • Knowledge and implementation of digital initiatives including website, e-communications and social media 
  • Developed external communications and media strategies to meet strategic public relations goals, key messages and generate best possible organisation awareness and profile
  • Crisis management and active response to key issues as they arise on all platforms

Subscription Ticketing Officers and Subscription/Telemarketing Sales Officers (Casual Positions)

Melbourne Theatre Company is looking for enthusiastic people to join our Customer Service and Subscriptions Ticketing team on a casual basis. We have several positions available covering two roles – Subscriptions Ticketing Officer and the dual role of Subscriptions Ticketing/Telemarketing Sales Officer.

You will be responsible for delivering superior customer service in the processing of subscription orders for Melbourne Theatre Company’s 2023 Season. A minimum of 4 days per week availability is required and hours of work will be varied across a working week from Monday to Saturday, commencing on Tuesday 30 August 2022, for approximately 8 weeks. Telesales staff will also be required to work evenings from October through until February 2023.

We’re looking for excellent communicators with a strong background in customer service, proven attention to detail and problem solving skills. A high level of computer and CRM system skills is required; knowledge of Tessitura ticketing system is an advantage. A background in outbound phone sales will also be highly regarded.
