Auditions for productions in our annual Season are by invitation only, however we conduct general auditions regularly for freelance performers.

Submissions for 2023 Graduate General Auditions are now closed.

To make a request for a general audition, email your acting CV and headshot to generalauditions@mtc.com.au with the subject Your Name | Casting Department GENERAL AUDITION.

We aim to offer general auditions at least every 12 months. These auditions focus on meeting Melbourne-based performers who have not yet been seen by the Company or those not seen for several years.

All requests for general auditions will be considered. Due to the high volume of requests we receive, your application does not guarantee an audition and we are unable to respond to all submissions individually. All submissions are kept on file for reference.

In addition to general auditions, there are various ways for us to get to know you and your work. Our Casting Department and wider Artistic Team endeavor to see as much theatre as possible, including independent theatre, to search for new talent. To invite us to see your work, please email info@mtc.com.au with the subject line Your Name | Name of production INVITATION.

For actors currently represented, it is preferred that your agent contacts us directly to express your interest in Melbourne Theatre Company or in a particular production.
