SUBSCRIBE

Becoming a Subscriber unlocks a discount on every ticket, so plays are cheaper than purchasing individually later in the year. Simply take your pick of 3+ plays from the season ahead and you’ll also enjoy great benefits like access to the best available seats, flexible date changes, payment instalments and more.

The more plays you choose, the bigger the discount you receive.

CHOOSE A PREVIEW

Previews are the performances before Opening Night and an exciting milestone in a play’s development. Select a preview for a big discount on your tickets and you’ll be one of the first people to see the play!

WEEKNIGHT DATE NIGHT

Choose performances on Mondays to Thursdays and you’ll pay less than seeing Friday and Saturday performances (or try your luck with Weekend Rush).

FRONT $50s

Available on select productions, Front $50s are seats that offer an up-close, front-centre view of the stage, where the majority of the production is performed. These seats are sold at a discounted rate to give even more people the opportunity to attend theatre.

$35 WEEKEND RUSH

Experience our world-class live theatre on Fridays and Saturdays for just $35 per ticket with Weekend Rush. We won’t even charge you a booking fee!

RUSH TICKETS

Concession-priced tickets are available for some productions two hours prior to each performance for pensioners, seniors, unemployed people, full-time students, and members of the Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance (MEAA).

DISCOUNTS FOR TARGET GROUPS

You may be eligible for a discount or special offer if you are part of a group listed below.

CONCESSION CARD HOLDERS

We offer a concession discount for pensioners, full-time students (over 30) and unemployed people with a valid ID (Government Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card, full time student ID or MEAA membership). Your ID must be sighted when collecting your tickets.

Concession card holders will also receive discounts on subscription packages.

$26 Seat Savers tickets are also available for people holding a valid concession card.

UNDER 30s

Under 30 or know someone who is? Tickets for individual plays (and subscription packages!) are half price for people aged 29 and under – simply select the price when checking out. Your proof of age must be sighted when collecting your tickets.

SENIORS

We offer a discount for Seniors Card holders for Wednesday matinee performances. Seniors may also use their card to purchase a rush ticket (when available) at the box office two hours prior to the production start time.

COMPANION CARD HOLDERS

We are a proud Companion Card affiliate. Companion Card holders can book a second ticket at no cost when attending with their companion, for all Melbourne Theatre Company productions.

Your Companion Card and other relevant ID must be sighted when collecting your tickets.

ARTS INDUSTRY

Theatre industry professionals
Practising theatre industry professionals can apply for our Industry Pass, providing access to an exclusive $29 ticket to mainstage productions in Season 2023.

MEAA Actors Equity card holders
Rush-priced Adult A-reserve tickets are available to actors holding a valid MEAA Actors Equity card for selected productions. Tickets can be booked in advance either over the phone by calling 03 8688 0800, or in person at the Southbank Theatre Box Office. A limit of one ticket per member per production applies.

Actors must present their MEAA Actors Equity card at the box office on collection of tickets.

Arts Access Victoria members
Members of Arts Access Victoria receive concession priced tickets and subscriptions. Proof of membership must be provided at the time of booking.

BLAKTIX

Blaktix are discount tickets available for people who identify as being of First Nations descent, supporting our commitment to equity and access. Blaktix are available online: simply look for the Blaktix price when selecting your seats.

By not selecting this option if you are not of First Nations descent, you support our ability to continue offering such accessible options.

Blaktix are subject to availability and may not be available for all performances. Blaktix are not available in conjunction with any other offer, or as part of a subscription booking.

No proof of eligibility is required and booking is at the discretion of the purchaser. Please note that by selecting Blaktix, this may indicate your Race or Ethnic Origin which is considered sensitive information (Privacy and Data Protection Act, 2014). This data is only used to provide a discount for First Nations people. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for details on how we store and protect your data.

GROUP BOOKINGS

Individual plays
Groups of 8 or more people attending the same performance will receive a discount on the full adult price. The group discount is available in all price reserves excluding Premium.

Subscription packages
Groups of 10 or more people attending the same performances for each production will receive a discount on the subscription adult price. Concession card holders can be included in a group subscription at their applicable concession price (eg pensioner, full-time student), and the remaining attendees within the group will receive the group subscription price. Group subscriptions may be purchased by mail booking form only and not currently available online.
