Sue and Stephen Walpole have attended performances at MTC for over 40 years and say they have “thoroughly enjoyed our theatre experiences”.
'When our children were younger we would only catch an occasional performance for the year but still felt passionate about the variety and quality that was on offer.'
Subscribers to MTC, Stephen and Sue were attending Home, I’m Darling in the Sumner on the night of their 40th wedding anniversary and Stephen investigated the possibility of naming a seat in the theatre.
Stephen explained 'when finding out the plaque would be there for 25 years, it was without hesitation I contacted MTC.'
A surprise for Sue they were able to spot the plaque upon arrival. Stephen recalled 'I’d have to admit I was a bit nervous as my wife walked along the aisle, stopping at the named seat and it was a wonderful moment we shared together, celebrating 40 years of marriage with tears in our eyes.'
'At the end of the performance we took photos and sat behind our seat for a moment of reflection, without realising the theatre was completely empty. We hope to enjoy another 25 years at least as subscribers to MTC and hopefully at least another 25 years of marriage. Thank you to the MTC for making our special day even more special.'
