About the Event

Melbourne Theatre Company’s First Peoples Young Artists’ Program is an engagement initiative for young First Nations people from across Australia to learn more about the performing arts industry and also develop their own creative work.

Are we already woven? Inspired by this premise these fresh, fierce and fabulous emerging artists will share some works-in-progress through a rehearsed reading of scenes hot off the press and straight from the heart. The group will also perform extracts from their original performance work ONE DAY that will be presented at YIRRAMBOI First Nations Festival in May this year.

Exploring the intricacies of how their environment shapes their identity and connection, these young, loud and proud voices will pull at the threads of the ‘unseen design’ around us.
