In The Lifespan of a Fact, young intern Jim Fingal is tasked by his editor, Emily Penrose, with fact checking an essay by venerated writer John D’Agata, a gifted wordsmith known for taking the occasional liberty with the truth. Jim is dogged in his dedication to accuracy; John equally so in his commitment to poetic license. Can Emily find a path through their stalemate?
We put the cast to the test to see if they can sort fact from fiction...
The Lifespan of a Fact is on until 3 July at Arts Centre Melbourne, Fairfax Studio.
