Melbourne Theatre Company and the Emerging Writers’ Festival are thrilled to continue the First Stage writers program, supported by The Vizard Foundation, providing creative and professional development for six new voices in Australian theatre.

In 2022, six writers - Gloria Demillo, Nicola Ingram, Ren Jiang, Annie Louey, Brodie Murray and Chido Mwat - will develop new dramatic writing over a series of intensive workshops with dramaturg Keziah Warner.

Actors will then perform dramatic readings of these six new excerpts, directed by Tasnim Hossain, as part of the Emerging Writers' Festival on Friday 24 June, 7pm at Southbank Theatre, The Lawler.
