More Information
Directed by Peter Houghton (The Odd Couple) this empathetic and surprisingly humorous story highlights the solace we take in moments of unexpected joy whilst navigating the politics and emotions that come with confronting the end of life.
Hiring a temporary carer requires some serious vetting and when Helen’s partner John heads off on a brief overseas trip she concedes to the arrangement by appointing the least likely candidate; a dubious young drifter and jack-of-all-trades. With an incorrigible zest for life, he could be just the medicine she needs – if it wasn’t for the monumental secret he’s hiding. As their disparate worlds collide and an unexpected bond forms, Helen turns to Lennie to help face her final moments.
Starring Offspring’s Linda Cropper alongside Nicholas Bell (North by Northwest), Stephen Phillips (Winners & Losers) and Johnny Carr (What Rhymes with Cars and Girls) as the unlikely house guest.
Commissioned by MTC with the support of the Joan & Peter Clemenger Trust.
