Best Production for Children, Sydney Theatre Award (2010)

Family show! Suitable for anyone aged 9 to 90

From acclaimed Ring Cycle Director Neil Armfield comes the adored Australian production that took New York by storm.

Nine year-old Thomas can see things no one else can: tropical fish thriving in the Amsterdam canals, trumpeting sparrows and even a hailstorm of frogs. He also sees the unhappiness of his family, the violence in his father, and the pain that lingers long after the war is over. All this – good and bad – he carefully records in his magical and hopeful Book of Everything.

Funny, deeply touching and created especially for young people, The Book of Everything is MTC’s Christmas treat for you and your family. Director Neil Armfield, playwright Richard Tulloch and designer Kim Carpenter have turned this classic children’s story into an enchanting play, literally for all ages. So bring your kids, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, or even just your inner child, for a day at the theatre like no other.

A Belvoir and Kim Carpenter’s Theatre of Image co-production.
