Earlier this week a select group of MTC Patrons, Board Members and special guests gathered for our Annual Gala Fundraising Dinner, held this year at Eureka 89 on the 89th floor of the Eureka Tower in Southbank.
Accompanied by breathtaking views and music from the fabulous Fem Belling Quartet, guests including Alison Bell, Catherine McClements, Joanna Murray-Smith, Louise Siversen, Nadia Tass, Alkinos Tsilimidos and David Williamson enjoyed an evening of fine food and wine, and the opportunity to meet with some of the many people who make their productions and performances possible.
The evening also included some special insights into our 2013 Season, as our new Literary Director Chris Mead spoke about dramaturgy and how David Williamson is approaching the life of Rupert Murdoch for his new play Rupert; actor Alison Bell discussed the preparation for her role in Constellations as well as the benefits of playing comedy roles; and MTC Associate Director Leticia Caceres shared the difficulties of finding a chandelier to be the centrepiece of the set of Constellations.
Chairman of the MTC Board Derek Young delivered a stirring toast to our departing Executive Director Ann Tonks, who in turn toasted MTC and its bright future. Both provided a fitting tribute to how far the Company has come under Ann’s leadership, and the exciting new opportunities ahead in 2013 and beyond. On that note, we’d like to thank all our supporters for their generosity, time, and the incredible enthusiasm they have for MTC – we truly wouldn’t have achieved all we have to date without your continued support.
