MTC has had to make the heartbreaking but essential decision to cancel our next six productions in order to ensure the Company survives this unprecedented time in our history and to prioritise our audiences’ health and welfare, and that of our staff, artists and wider community.
This means that Berlin, Sexual Misconduct of the Middle Classes, The Heartbreak Choir, Fun Home and True West will no longer be staged this year as scheduled. The season and regional tour of our Education Production, SLAP. BANG. KISS., has also regrettably been cancelled. This follows previous cancellations of Torch the Place and Emerald City.
We would love for MTC audiences to consider supporting the Company and our artists at this challenging time by choosing not to take a refund. Ticket holders can read more about their options below.
Due to a high volume of calls and emails, your enquiry may take longer than usual to answer during this time. Please refrain from calling our ticketing team unless your request is urgent. Our hard-working team will respond to you as soon as possible.
There are a number of options available to audiences with tickets to cancelled productions.
We would love for MTC audiences to consider supporting the Company and our artists at this challenging time by choosing not to take a refund. Other options for ticketholders include:
Returning the value of your ticket as a tax-deductible donation to MTC, if you are in the position to do so. Tax receipts are issued for all donations of $2 or more.
Exchanging your ticket into a performance of a production later this year, including As You Like It, Girls & Boys or Sunshine Super Girl. Exchange and upgrade fees will be waived when changing your tickets from a cancelled performance into another Season 2020 mainstage production.
Converting the ticket cost to a credit on your account that can be used for tickets and subscriptions in Season 2021.
Alternatively, you may receive a refund for your tickets.

Alternatively, please email us for assistance at MTCticketing@mtc.com.au
If you would like a refund, please email MTCticketing@mtc.com.au with your order confirmation or name, account number (if known) and seat numbers and a member of our ticketing team we will in touch. Due to the large number of tickets affected, at this time we are expecting refunds may take up to 8 weeks. Refund requests will be processed in order of receipt.
For Subscribers who have elected to pay by instalments, MTC will pause the scheduled April instalment. Once you have decided what you would like to do with your tickets, a member of our team will be able to adjust your instalment schedule.
