With the visionary support of The Cybec Foundation and the late Dr Roger Riordan AM, MTC’s Cybec Electric Season commences on Thursday 28 March, and runs until Saturday 30 March 2019. This three-day program comprises two full play readings and excerpt sessions of scenes from a number of plays in development.

The season consists of two plays presented in full and two programs of up to 4 play-excerpts presented in the Lawler, Southbank Theatre. 8 emerging playwrights, 4 interns and 2 emerging directors will test promising new scripted works in front of a live audience, and have an opportunity to work in a professional, resource-heavy environment.

Through his support of MTC and the Cybec Electric Program MTC Lifetime Patron, the late Roger Riordan AM, has provided countless opportunities for the next generation of Australian storytellers to develop their skills as writers, performers and creators. , His extraordinary legacy lives on in the continuation of Cybec Electric in 2019; one of the many he and The Cybec Foundation enable across the sector and beyond.

Paying tribute to Roger’s visionary commitment, MTC Artistic Director Brett Sheehy AO said, ‘Roger was an immensely humble and generous man whose philanthropic leadership touched the lives of many.
