Led by MTC Donors with a passion for specific programs and initiatives at MTC, we have established Giving Circles of Support that allow you to direct your gift and experience the impact of your generosity. Choose one that’s right for you.
Education Giving Circle
Transforming Young Lives Through Theatre
MTC Education enhances the theatre experience for young people, helps map career pathways in performing arts and strengthens MTC’s current and future audiences. Our award-winning programs rely on donor support to provide young people with the opportunity to experience and explore world-class theatre, meet industry professionals, and collaborate with their peers to create theatre of their own.
At the heart of MTC Education is a desire to make these opportunities accessible to all young Victorians, by reducing geographical and socio-economic barriers that inhibit engagement with the creative industries.
Please consider playing an active role in developing the next generation of theatre makers and creating rich and rewarding theatre experiences that inspire a lifelong love of performing arts. Your gift will contribute to enriching the creative lives of thousands of young people across the state.
Women in Theatre Giving Circle
Supporting Australian Artists and Industry Leaders
Melbourne Theatre Company is committed to addressing the gender imbalance that remains prevalent in the theatre industry by actively supporting the professional development of female artists and industry leaders.
MTC’s Women in Theatre program provides meaningful support and guidance to a selected group of emerging and mid-career women committed to a professional practice in live theatre. Over a 12-month period, participants have the chance to familiarise themselves with the culture and inner workings of Victoria’s state theatre company, whilst receiving one on one mentoring from a leading practitioner in their chosen field and the opportunity to create valuable peer to peer support networks.
The annual program continues to attract country wide attention and is supported entirely by the generosity of Donors through the Women in Theatre Giving Circle. Established in 2016, the Giving Circle is an essential part of the program with Donors having the opportunity to engage with and support the program participants beyond a financial contribution.
Youth Ambassadors Giving Circle
Inspiring through Education
The MTC Ambassadors program offers 15 diverse Year 11 drama students unique exposure to the inner workings of Australia’s oldest professional theatre company.
Ambassadors deepen their knowledge and experience of theatre through a series of guest lectures, workshops and exposure to MTC productions. This annual program challenges and inspires the next generation of theatre makers with opportunities that would simply not be available at school.
Having this support and shared experience with their peers can often make the difference in helping a young person to shape their aspirations into future career pathways.
Please help support and inspire young achievers and invest in the next generation of theatre-makers.
