ABOUT THE SHOW

SLAP. A video of 16-year-old Immi hitting a security officer goes viral. BANG. Sofia’s impassioned speech for the victims of a school shooting makes international news. KISS. In the car park of a Wangaratta Woolies, people rally around Darby and Daniel as the boys lock lips in an attempt to set the world record for the longest kiss.

Can young people really change the world? Multi-award-winning playwright and MTC Writer in Residence Dan Giovannoni knows they can. In SLAP. BANG. KISS. he tracks three young people whose stories kick-start a series of events none of them could have anticipated, transforming them into global symbols of revolution. But when their stories go viral and the whole world is watching, what will they do next?

Director Prue Clark (The Violent Outburst That Drew Me To You) delivers a bold production exploring themes of activism, community and hope for MTC’s acclaimed Families and Education Program.

School Bookings

MTC’s Education Production SLAP. BANG. KISS. has had its Southbank Theatre season and regional tour cancelled.

MTC intends to distribute a filmed performance of SLAP. BANG. KISS. for schools, however Government directives related to COVID-19 have unfortunately made it necessary to delay rehearsals. We understand that this is disappointing, however MTC is committed to producing this project and we are working towards a live streamed performance in early September. As soon as details are confirmed, we will update schools through the MTC Education eNews and social media, and drama education networks.
