Green Park by Elias Jamieson Brown
28 years ago Warren found a dead body in the Green Park toilets. Tonight, Warren waits in his shoebox apartment overlooking the ARQ nightclub, a stone’s throw from Green Park. He’s waiting for Eden, the dream boy he met online. Eden is 30 years younger than Warren, is very handsome – but he doesn’t look like the boy in his profile photo.
A story of sex and power across generations.
As One by Phillip Kavanagh
Beth, Megan, Steven, Colin, Vicki and Angela all live seemingly separate but surprisingly interconnected lives. They live in the same suburb, share mutual friends but all struggle to find meaningful connections. That is until their plane crashes and they all end up together on a raft in the middle of the ocean. With a chance to start afresh, what kind of society will they choose to create? Who are they when all existing societal boundaries are removed, and what are they willing to do in order to get what they want?
A sharp, smart and comic parable for our times.
Cycle Broken by Eva Grace Mullaley
Waa lives in a share house with fellow outcasts Church, a dominatrix, and Rhythm, a recent cult escapee. Her daughter, Rumour, has been taken from her by Child Services and now she must jump through endless bureaucratic hoops to try and get her back.
As she reflects on the women who have come before her, all of whom have had children taken from them in their past, she must also contend with the fact that her housemates, the two people she is closest to in this world, might be the reason she can’t get Rumour back in the first place.
