Adelaide and Canberra saw it…even Mansfield, now it’s Melbourne’s turn!
Star of Wormwood tells the story of Mary Webster who was accused of witchcraft in 1680 and consequently sentenced to death by hanging. This moving story is a piece of contemporary musical theatre, told through the use of elements of physical theatre, puppetry, dance and original music.
Joachim Matschoss and Matthew Baker have created a musical theatre piece that is both haunting and beautiful in its simplicity.
BackYardTheatreEnsemble (BYTE) is a company dedicated to theatre by young people for young people. Star of Wormwood has been shown in South Australia, Victoria and the ACT and will after its short Melbourne Season go on a tour that will take the ensemble to Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland, Scotland, The Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Singapore.
