About the Event

As 37 continues to electrify audiences, join us for a compelling 60-minute panel conversation exploring the intersection of sports, cultural identity, and the experiences of First Nations athletes – themes powerfully echoed in the play itself.

In this free discussion, moderated by diversity and inclusion leader Rana Hussain, hear from former AFL player, music and film producer and First Nations youth sport advocate Nathan Lovett-Murray, and University of Melbourne Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Indigenous) and Professor Indigenous Studies Barry Judd. Together, they will explore sports’ role in shaping national identity and societal perceptions, and, like theatre, how it holds up a mirror to the country’s values and tensions – revealing both progress and the challenges still ahead.

From the evolution of inclusivity in sport to the power of storytelling in shaping national identity and who gets to belong, this conversation asks: how far have we come, and where do we still need to go?

This event is free to attend, however spaces are limited so please register for a free ticket.

Don't miss the opportunity to engage with thought leaders in the worlds of sport, media, and academia.
