About The Show

Fifteen-year-old Christopher Boone knows all the countries of the world and their capitals and every prime number up to 7,057. He relates well to animals but has no understanding of human emotions. He cannot stand to be touched. And he detests the colour yellow.

This improbable story begins with a quiet midnight and a neighborhood scandal: Wellington, a neighbor's poodle, has been killed with a garden fork. Christopher is the prime suspect. To clear his name, he decides to channel his hero, Sherlock Holmes, and document his investigation in a book. However, Christopher's logical inquiry quickly spirals out of control. As he follows the clues, he unearths a tangled web of adult secrets that shatters his carefully ordered world. He discovers that his father has been lying to him about the most fundamental facts of his life-including the fate of his mother. Forced to leave his comfort zone for the first time, Christopher embarks on a terrifying, solo journey to London. It is a quest that tests the limits of his courage and forces him to navigate a chaotic world that doesn't make sense to him.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is a deeply moving and often funny exploration of what it means to be "different." It is a mystery where the greatest discovery isn't who killed the dog, but what Christopher is truly capable of achieving.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time was first presented by the National Theatre, London at the Cottesloe Theatre on 2 August 2012 and transferred to the Apollo Theatre, West End, London on 12th March 2013. The Play opened in the USA at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre on 5th October 2014.
