From time to time, standing room tickets are available to performances at Southbank Theatre. If available, this option will be mentioned on the appropriate production’s web page.

The Standing Room section in The Sumner is a space against the back wall of the auditorium with an angled, cushioned bench (much like those on a tram), for guests to lean upon. A limited number of spaces are available, and will generally be released for sale only once all other tickets to a performance have been allocated.

Guests who purchase tickets for this section acknowledge that they will be required to stand for the duration of the performance, and are not permitted to occupy the seated section even if a seat becomes available.

From time to time, MTC makes tickets available to Halftix at Melbourne Town Hall. Visit for details.
