School excursions
To make a booking for your school group to visit Melbourne Theatre Company and see a production, please submit your booking enquiry below and we will get back to you as soon as possible to confirm availability. Payment is via invoice. Please note: There is limited availability for school tickets to live productions.
Schools experiencing disadvantage
If your school is located in regional Victoria or the City of Greater Geelong, or ranked 1,000 and below on the Index of Community Socio-Educational Advantage (ICSEA), you may be eligible for discount tickets, relief teacher subsidies or travel subsidies through our IGNITE program.
MTC Digital Theatre
Several Melbourne Theatre Company productions are available for schools to stream in your school. Please note: After pressing play, you will have 48 hours to finish watching the digital production before it expires and you no longer have access to the video. To book a group viewing or individual student viewings, please fill out the booking form linked below. Payment is via invoice.

Season 2025 Productions
- Students: $31 each
- IGNITE tickets: $5 (for eligible schools)
- Accompanying teacher (per 15 students): free
- Additional teachers: $53
Please note: school ticket prices have limited availability. Under 30s prices may be available when school tickets are exhausted. There are no school prices for Never Have I Ever, Legends (of the Golden Arches) and Dying: A Memoir – schools may book at the Under 30s price for these productions. There are no IGNITE tickets for Never Have I Ever, Legends (of the Golden Arches) and Dying: A Memoir.
MTC Digital Theatre
- Students: $10 each for group viewing or $16 each for individual viewing
- Accompanying teacher: free
Currently available for schools: Berlin, As You Like It, SLAP. BANG. KISS. and The Heartbreak Choir.
Payment conditions & cancellation policy
Your invoice must be paid in full by the due date. Once payment is received no reductions in numbers or cancellations will be accepted.
- For bookings of 50 students and less, final payment is due 4 weeks prior to the event (or by the date stated on the invoice if the booking has been made less than 4 weeks prior to the event).
- For bookings larger than 50 students, final payment is due 8 weeks prior to the event (or by the date stated on the invoice if the booking has been made less than 8 weeks prior to the event).
- If payment is not received by the date due as stated on your tax invoice, and you have not requested, in writing, an extension on your payment date, you will be charged 100% of the value of this booking and no cancellations will be accepted.
Prior to payment, changes to the original booking can be made subject to the following conditions:
- Changes can be made up to the invoice due date without a fee.
- From the invoice due date to 8 days prior to the event: if you cancel or substantially reduce the numbers originally booked, you will be charged 50% of the value of the cancelled tickets.
- From 7 days prior to the event: no reductions in numbers or cancellations will be accepted. After this date, we do not refund in the event that a school cancels, reduces its numbers or misses the performance, or if individual students are unable to attend.

The age recommendations below are provided to help teachers make informed decisions about which shows will be suitable for their students. However, it is your own/your school’s decision on who you’d like to bring to see a show – you know your young people best.
