‘I’m most interested in stage and technical management, as well as lighting design. I also enjoy acting. I love theatre because it is such a warm space, like a second family. I’m most excited about seeing Golden Shield.’

Angelina Stoicevski

Angelina

‘I’m most interested in the acting and character development side of theatre. I’m also interested in music, and how it can create the tone and feel of a show. I love theatre because it is really open to all communities of people, and allows them to openly express themselves. I’m most excited about seeing Shakespeare in Love, because I love the movie and am interested in seeing how they’ve adapted it for the stage.’

Anna Huynh

Anna

‘I’m most interested in writing and acting. I love theatre because it allows people to explore a world away from reality and create a new universe, create new emotions, and to manipulate an atmosphere. I’m most excited about seeing Così, as I am currently studying it at school and would love to see how it plays out.’

Ben Bonnici

Ben

‘I’m most interested in musical theatre and fashion. They’re both so expressive and allow the creator and actor to be very open about their art through materials or song. I love theatre because it allows someone to express themselves in a way that reflects their emotions and allows the audience to interpret the performance how they wish. I’m most excited about seeing Kiss of the Spider Woman, because it is widely renowned on Broadway.’

Cat Baker

Cat

‘I’m most interested in backstage organisation and artistic visions that develop from a director’s ideas. I love theatre because it is a means of introspection and reflection on the world around us. The ability to teach, comfort and inspire the community, as well as entertain them, is truly unique to human life and a phenomenal ability. I’m most excited about seeing Golden Shield, because I love political and social discussions, and the power they have to educate and change understandings.’

Ellie Singe

Ellie

‘I’m most interested in stage management and lighting design. I’d also like to learn more about audio and SFX. I use theatre as a release, as well as a form of self-expression. I like to push myself to create and problem-solve. I’m excited to see all the plays this year, for the variations – good and bad!’

Indiana Hatzakortzian

Indiana

‘I just love how theatre can turn literally nothing into something otherworldly. They just turn a bunch of words in a living, breathing world! I’m most interested in directing and sound production, and I can’t wait to see Shakespeare in Love.’

Jacob Gambin

Jacob

‘I’m most interested in acting and directing. I love theatre because it allows you to escape to a new world. I’m most excited about seeing Heisenberg, because it sounds like a good thriller.’

James Howarth

James

‘I’m very eclectic when it comes to theatre and drama, so I really enjoy acting, directing and writing. I love theatre because it gives me the opportunity to express myself and present that to an audience. Every production in Season 2019 looks exciting! I’ll be spreading the word to my school and encouraging others to get involved in theatre.’ James travels from Kyneton to participate in MTC Ambassadors.

Jamil Nabolé

Jamil

‘I’m most interested in directing and acting. I love theatre because you get to become someone you’re not, and do things you might not get to do within your lifetime. I’m most excited about seeing Storm Boy.’

Josie Coyle

Josie

‘I absolutely love the magic of seeing a production go from an idea to a whole performance. I’m most interested in acting, but I also enjoy writing and directing. I’m most excited to see Kiss of the Spider Woman, because I love musical theatre.’

Matisse Knight

Matisse

‘I love theatre because it allows me to escape and be someone else for a change. I’m most excited about seeing Così, Shakespeare in Love and Kiss of the Spider Woman. I’m most interested in musical theatre and eclectic theatre.’

Nathan Dinh

Nathan

‘I’m most interested in exploring how different elements of stagecraft can come together in a show. I love theatre because it allows a platform for people to express themselves and their ideas. I’m most excited about seeing Storm Boy, because I am interested in seeing how interpretations of a story can be portrayed in different ways.’

Paris Leveque

Paris

‘I’m most excited about seeing The Violent Outburst That Drew Me to You, because I’m really interested to see the way that kind of message will be conveyed. I’m most interested in acting and performing, especially in musical theatre. I love theatre because it’s an art form that can bring people together just through a story.’

Paula Carbonell

Paula

‘The area of theatre that has always interested me the most is acting itself, I always have a lot of fun in the process and every new performance is very exciting. I love theatre because I have so fun participating and I love the nervousness and excitement before a performance. I love the stories that theatre tells you, it’s not like a movie, theatre can get closer to the audience and tell the stories in many more ways. The production that I’m most excited to see this year is The Violent Outburst That Drew Me to You, because it’s specifically made for people more my age and I feel like maybe I can relate to some of the characteristic of the characters.’

Sarah Sinapius

Sarah

‘I’m most interested in the behind-the-scenes aspects of theatre. I love hearing people talk about the thought process that goes into making a production. I love theatre because it’s a way to meet other like-minded people, in a warm and welcoming environment. I’m most excited about seeing The Violent Outburst That Drew Me to You, because I adore a good coming-of-age story.’ Sarah travels from Bendigo to participate in MTC Ambassadors.
