I’ve been fascinated with the idea that Gallipoli has become our foundation myth… about the way we today choose to commemorate and memorialise Gallipoli.
Ahead of the Opening Night of The Last Man Standing, we sat down with writer Steve Vizard and Composer Paul Grabowsky to talk about the different ways we honour Gallipoli and the ANZACs, and wonder whether the original ANZACs would tell their stories the way we do today. Plus we stepped inside the rehearsal room to see the cast in preparation for this World Premiere production.
The Last Man Standing is playing at Southbank Theatre, the Sumner until 12 December.
