The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time now on sale

13 Nov 2017

Tickets are now on sale for the highly anticipated Australian premiere of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, presented by Melbourne Theatre Company and Arts Centre Melbourne.

Opening exclusively in Melbourne on Saturday 13 January 2018, Curious Incident is the five-time Tony Award and seven-time Oliver Award-winning global sensation from London’s National Theatre.

The production has been in high demand as part of MTC Season 2018 subscription packages – which until today has been the only way to purchase tickets. To date, Curious Incident has sold more tickets than any other show in Season 2018, proving it to be a sought-after summer production.

With performances already filling fast and bookings now open to the general public, audiences are encouraged to quickly secure their tickets to this thrilling production.

Adapted by Simon Stephens from Mark Haddon’s international best-selling novel, Curious Incident’s mesmerising combination of storytelling and spectacle is ingeniously brought to life by award-winning director Marianne Elliott (War Horse).

Featuring remarkable staging, this ground-breaking production is performed by a full UK cast who arrive in Melbourne after lauded seasons in Amsterdam and Toronto. Curious Incident will then tour to Hong Kong at the end of its Melbourne run.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time follows the story of fifteen-year-old Christopher Boone. He has an extraordinary brain – exceptional at maths, while ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. He has never ventured alone beyond the end of his road, he detests being touched and he distrusts strangers. But his detective work, forbidden by his father, takes Christopher on a frightening journey that upturns his world.

To complement the Australian premiere of Curious Incident, an Associated Program of events will run at Arts Centre Melbourne featuring workshops and talks with industry experts and members of the creative team, masterclasses offering insights into the production, immersive experiences and a relaxed performance.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time plays at Arts Centre Melbourne from 11 January – 18 February. The Opening Night will be held on Saturday 13 January.

Tickets are now on sale at mtc.com.au and artscentremelbourne.com.au
