Meet the Wild cast of three and the extraordinary women bringing The House of Bernarda Alba to life, plus many more new and familiar faces joining us for Season 2018. We can’t wait to see them on stage this year!
Next month Mike Bartlett’s riveting contemporary thriller, Wild, will turn the world upside down with it’s Australian premiere at Southbank Theatre. The cast of three has now been rounded out with Nicholas Denton (Jasper Jones) and Toby Schmitz (Black Sails) joining Anna Lise Phillips (Animal Kingdom), under the direction of MTC Associate Director Dean Bryant (Vivid White).
Nicholas Denton will also return later in the year to star in Albert Belz’s irresistibly funny and heart-warming new tale Astroman when it makes it’s world premiere in October.
The Hungry Ghosts team are in the building this week as they prepare to bring Jean Tong’s new play to the stage in May. Bernard Sam has recently joined the cast, which also includes Emina Ashman and Jing-Xuan Chan.
Leticia Cáceres directs a cast of extraordinary women in Patricia Cornelius’ Australian adaptation of the Spanish classic The House of Bernarda Alba. Among them are Candy Bowers (Straight White Men), Bessie Holland (Wentworth), Sue Jones (Minnie & Liraz) and Emily Milledge (Antigone). See the full cast here.
Joseph Lai and Jem Lai join the top-drawer cast of An Ideal Husband and Peter Paltos (Minnie & Liraz) returns to the Company in Gloria, alongside Callan Colley, Jordan Fraser-Trumble, Aileen Huynh, Lisa McCune and Sophie Ross (What Rhymes with Cars and Girls).
MTC favourites Deidre Rubenstein (North by Northwest) and Greg Stone (Ladies in Black) come together for A Doll’s House, Part 2, alongside Zoe Terakes, who joins her Janet King co-star Marta Dusseldorp. And Nicholas Bell returns to the MTC stage to star with Linda Cropper in the world premiere production of Aidan Fennessy’s The Architect.
