Rupert Tour Diary | sunrises and special events

There’s no rest for our Rupert team as they continue with their busy tour schedule in the lead up to the Opening Night performance of Rupert tomorrow (morning, Australian time). Last night, Brett and Virginia attended a welcome dinner at the Kennedy Center, which included a guest appearance by Joey from Warhorse.

Meanwhile our cast have been kicking the jetlag with an early morning run, which has made for some postcard-perfect sunrise photos of the Washington Monument on the National Mall. Pretty spectacular, don’t you think?

Our ‘Young Rupert’, Guy Edmonds, took a look at the Eisenhower Theatre, where we’ll be performing Rupert from Wednesday to Saturday.

On Tuesday night the entire team, our sponsors and donors were welcomed to the home of Australian Ambassador to the US, the Hon Kim Beazley, AC, to celebrate the first international MTC tour in more than 30 years. By all accounts it was a great night!

And now we roll on to tomorrow night (well, tomorrow morning Aus time), and the first international performance of Rupert – we’re pretty excited!
