We kick off the year with Noël Coward’s best-known comedy – as effervescent as freshly poured champagne on a hot summer’s night.
Elyot and Sybil are honeymooning in France and life couldn’t be more perfect. In the adjoining hotel room Amanda and Victor are delighting in their own postnuptial bliss. The fact that Elyot and Amanda were once married to each other isn’t such a big deal. That is, until the two couples meet and honeymoon rapture comes to a grinding halt.
Coward’s plot-perfect marital farce is sparklingly witty and wickedly vicious. MTC Associate Artistic Director Sam Strong’s daring new production, featuring musical theatre star Lucy Durack together with Leon Ford, Julie Forsyth, Nadine Garner and John Leary promises to be a highlight of 2014.

Shimmers with wit and charm. A funny and seductively charged production.
Garner doesn’t miss a beat. What Durack does as Sybil is remarkable.

The Standing Room section in The Sumner is a space against the back wall of the auditorium with an angled, cushioned bench (much like those on a tram), for guests to lean upon. A limited number of spaces are available, and will be released for sale once all other tickets to a performance have been allocated.
Guests who purchase tickets for this section acknowledge that they will be required to stand for the duration of the performance, and are not permitted to occupy the seated section even if a seat becomes available.
To purchase a Standing Room ticket, simply select your preferred date from the booking area, and when prompted to select a seating area, choose the Standing Room area of the seat map.
