BOX OFFICE FAQ
1. Can I exchange my tickets?
Ticket exchanges are available to MTC Season Subscribers only. Subscribers are entitled to exchange tickets for a different performance date of the same production subject to availability, provided that the tickets are received at the MTC Theatre Box Office no later than 48 hours prior to the performance date indicated on the ticket. An exchange fee of $4.40 (or an exchange voucher) applies for each exchanged ticket. Exchanges can be done in person at the MTC Theatre located on the corner of Southbank Blvd and Dodds St, Southbank or mail exchanges to MTC Subscriptions, PO Box 918 South Melbourne 3205. 2. Can I book my subscription over the phone or via fax?
Sorry, no. To maintain a strict first-in first-served policy, MTC no longer accepts subscriptions by phone or fax.
3. What if I cannot access any of the links and pages on this site?
Please call MTC reception on (03) 8688 0900 or email info@mtc.com.au with your query and contact details. We will get back to you and give you the information or help you need.
4. Is there violence/smoking/nudity/coarse language/heavy subject matter in the play I am about to see?
We do not wish to offend personal sensibilities and values. In the Season Brochure and on this website we include language, violence, nudity, and smoking warnings and try to give some indication of the themes and subject matter of each play. Smoking is often mentioned in the play’s stage directions, but is often omitted or added during rehearsals. We post warnings outside the entrance to the auditorium about strobe lighting, smoke machines, very loud noise, gunfire and smoking. Actors in MTC productions only smoke low-irritant herbal cigarettes. For the latest warnings and information, please call MTC reception (03) 8688 0900.

5. What concessions do you accept?
We offer concessions to Pensioners, full-time students, health care cardholders, VATE (Victorian Association for the Teaching of English), unemployed and Under 30s (29 and under). The appropriate ID, concession or membership card must be provided at the time of booking or, in the case of phone bookings, when collecting tickets and entering the theatre.
Concession prices are not available to Senior Card holders, except Wednesday matinees when they can purchase tickets for the same price as pensioners. Seniors have access to the Half-Price Rush Tickets that are available two hours prior to show time, subject to availability.
6. Where can I pick up a brochure?
At the MTC Theatre, the Arts Centre or we can send you one. Just email info@mtc.com.au or call MTC reception on (03) 8688 0900.
7. I've lost my tickets, can you issue me duplicate tickets?
In most cases MTC can issue a replacement Lost Ticket Pass. Call the MTC Box Office on (03) 8688 0800 or visit the MTC Theatre Box Office. However, please note that Lost Ticket Passes cannot be exchanged.
8. The performance I have tickets for has been cancelled. What can I do?
All ticket holders may exchange into another performance of the same production, subject to availability, or into another Mainstage MTC performance of the current season by returning their tickets to the place of purchase. If you prefer to receive a refund, tickets must be returned to the place of purchase within twenty days of the cancelled performance. The addresses for exchanges are as follows:
