MTC is dedicated to reaching to a wide variety of theatre lovers. Over the past few years, through the introduction of its Family Production, MTC has committed to transporting children and parents into new worlds of imagination, inspiring lives, developing young dreams and provoking family conversations.
This year our Family Production was only made possible due to the Family Production Giving Circle. Led by Johnathan Feder, an MTC Donor and Board member, the Family Production Giving Circle was created to help us continue to transform young lives through the magic of theatre.
Currently with 13 members and growing, the Family Production Giving Circle’s mission is to raise enough funding to help cover the costs of the MTC Family Production each year. In 2016 the Family Production Giving Circle raised $50,000, which was matched by a Creative Partnerships Australia Plus1 matched-funding grant. Together, the Family Production Giving Circle supporters and Creative Partnerships Australia created a pathway for the 2016 play Egg to take the stage in MTC’s Lawler Theatre.
Written by Angela Betzien, Egg is an eco-adventure for all ages, merging puckish pranking and the wondrous skills of Terrapin Puppet Theatre. With great acting, a clever set and catchy-songs, Egg proved to be fun for the entire family! Family Production Giving Circle supporters were involved behind-the-scenes with Egg – attending a morning tea with the cast and creatives, an opening night post show event, and exclusive access at rehearsals.
Thank you to the members of the Family Production Giving Circle – Mark and Orli Blecher and Family, Tom and Elana Cordiner, Natasha Davies, Joel Dodge and Family, Shaun and Michelle Factor, Jonathan and Melody Feder, David and Lilly Harris, Virginia Lovett and Rose Hiscock, George and Yolanda Klempfner AO, Nick Nichola and Ingrid Moyle, Anne and Mark Robertson OAM, Hilary and Stuart Scott, Trikojus Education Fund – Australian Communities Foundation, Anthony Watson and Tracey McDonald, and Anonymous. We hope to continue to develop the Family Production Giving Circle into 2017 and beyond!
