Synopsis

Following a string of international shows and a hugely popular monthly residency at Trades Hall, Magic Steven returns for three nights only presenting his new show Note to Self. He will share with audiences some of his most recent experiences, as recorded in his ongoing series of pocket notebooks. This daily writing practice is maintained by Magic Steven, in an attempt to grow as a person.

With a performance style, which has been alternately described as autobiographical storytelling, deadpan comedy, guided meditation, long-form beat poetry, lecture performance and non-traditional stand-up, Magic Steven is a wholly unique voice in Australian comedy.

A Melbourne-based spoken-word performer, Magic Steven has presented unique pieces of work at the last three Melbourne Comedy Festivals, as well as Melbourne Fringe. In 2015 he performed at MONA’s Dark Mofo Festival in Hobart, Tasmania, and opened for legendary British musician Richard Dawson as part of iconic local festival, Liquid Architecture.
