the mtc theatre caught in the storm

The MTC Theatre was damaged during the severe thunderstorms which caused chaos across Melbourne on Saturday afternoon. Flash floods, hail and high winds damaged the MTC Theatre’s roof and water preceded into most parts of the building including the Sumner Theatre Stage, MTC Box Office and Theatre foyers.

As a result MTC cancelled Tuesday evening's, Wednesday’s matinee and evening performances of Hannie Rayson’s The Swimming Club, and was also forced to cancel three performances over the weekend. Please note that The Swimming Club performances are now running as scheduled.

Ticket holders who were affected by the cancelled performances may exchange into another performance of The Swimming Club or into another 2010 Mainstage show, or request a refund by returning their tickets (within three weeks) to: MTC Box Office PO Box 918 South Melbourne 3205.

Please note the Box Office staff are are again operating out of the MTC Theatre Box Office.

Script Bar and Bistro will be operating as usual and will be open Monday to Friday - 7.30am till late.
