Regional Workshops

We strive to make creative, theatrical experiences accessible to all students in Victoria. Thanks to generous donors we are able to offer free or low-cost workshops to a limited number of regional students in 2018.

Hungry Ghosts Regional Workshop
To embed the experience of seeing Hungry Ghosts, two hour workshops will be offered across the state in regional areas where this exciting new production is being performed. This workshop explores the themes, ideas and non-naturalistic performance styles of the production, and support students’ own creative work.
Duration: 2 hours
Suitable for: Year 10+
Capacity: Up to 25 students

Macbeth Regional Workshop
Explore Shakespeare’s classic tragedy through the lens of the 2017 MTC production, directed by Simon Phillips. Students interpret key scenes through performance tasks, and investigate the dramatic choices made by the creative team at MTC. This workshop explores the themes of the play, as well as performance techniques that help to demystify the text.
Duration: 2 hours
Suitable for: Year 9+
Capacity: Up to 25 students

VCE Drama Regional Workshop
Tailored for VCE Drama students, this practical workshop assists students in constructing their interpretation to the prescribed structures from the solo performance examination.
Duration: 4 hours
Suitable for: VCE Drama students
Capacity: Up to 25 students

VCE Theatre Studies Regional Workshop
Tailored for VCE Theatre Studies students, this practical workshop assists students in building their interpretation of a monologue from the stagecraft examination.
Duration: 4 hours
Suitable for: VCE Theatre Studies students
Capacity: Up to 25 students
