SOLO PERFORMANCE WORKSHOPS
VCE Drama Unit 4
During this practical full-day workshop, designed as a springboard into the solo performance task, an experienced exam assessor and a professional actor will prepare students for the process of selection, development and performance of their solo performance exam.
This workshop will include practical activities related to:
• The application of non-naturalistic theatrical conventions and dramatic elements
• The use of expressive and performance skills
• The transformation of character, time, place and object
• The use of stagecraft elements in performance.

9.30am to 3.30pm daily
MONOLOGUE PERFORMANCE WORKSHOPS
VCE Theatre Studies Unit 4
During this practical full-day workshop, an experienced exam assessor and a professional actor will assist students with their preparation for the monologue performance exam. Students will gain skills in interpretation, rehearsal techniques and performance of their chosen monologue.
This workshop will include practical activities related to:
• Text analysis and rehearsal techniques
• Directorial techniques and the application of stagecraft
• Choosing an appropriate context, and conveying context and meaning through performance
• The use of space and focus and the application of theatrical styles.

Monday 20 August, Tuesday 21 August, Wednesday 22 August, Thursday 23 August, Friday 24 August
9.30am to 3.30pm

Group size: Limit of 40 students per workshop
Cost: Metropolitan school groups - $32 per student, Non-metropolitan school groups - $28 per student, Accompanying teachers - no charge
Venue: MTC Headquarters, Studio 2
Loose and comfortable clothing should be worn as both of these workshops have a strong physical component.
