Drama Victoria, the Victoria Association for Drama Education, is the oldest Drama association for teachers in Australia. Drama Victoria offers seminars, teaching resources, online communities and major conference events. MTC is continuing its partnership with Drama Victoria in 2018, with ticket discounts and professional development opportunities.

Playwriting PD


Drama Victoria members are invited to an exclusive PD event to celebrate the MTC production of The House of Bernarda Alba, adapted by Patricia Cornelius, after Frederico García Lorca. This professional development event includes a pre-show seminar with playwright Patricia Cornelius, followed by a light meal and refreshments, and an A-reserve ticket to the 6.30pm performance at Arts Centre Melbourne. Your Drama Victoria membership allows you to access this event for the price of a concession ticket at time of booking.

Teacher as Artist PD


MTC and Drama Victoria are joining forces to bring teacher professional development events to Bendigo and Wodonga in April 2018. This practical workshop will develop your directorial skills by exploring ways to approach scripts with young people, and how to direct group-devised and unscripted work. You’ll also investigate the principles of design and the producer’s perspective on creative problem-solving. Whether you’re directing the school production, or students in everyday classroom performance tasks, this workshop will provide the insight and tools you’re looking for.

MTC Education Online is supported by the Victorian Department of Education and Training. MTC Education supports the teaching and study of VCE Drama, VCE Theatre Studies, and Years 7-10 Drama with multimedia packs, show-related activities, and specialist workshops for students and teachers. MTC Education will expand its current online presence into MTC Education Online, a coherent multi-channel suite of online resources and activities, accessible by students and teachers throughout regional Victoria.
