At MTC Education we want young people to develop a love of theatre and performing. We also recognise that becoming knowledgeable and gaining skills is always part of that process. Therefore, MTC’s Education Program has a special focus on getting young people to experience theatre in a professional environment that will be educational and instructive, as well as enjoyable.

The MTC Education Program covers three broad areas:

1. We encourage students to attend MTC’s mainstage productions, and often have special school performances for suitable shows.

2. We produce our own work specifically catering for students, including our popular Explorations series in which classic texts are examined with a teacher-artist and a group of actors.

3. We teach young people theatre skills both for fun or for VCE assessment in our various workshops, forums and summer schools.
