Julia Blake's Poppets

When The Crucible actor Julia Blake (Rebecca Nurse) mentioned that we might be interested in seeing the gifts she had made for the cast and crew, we didn’t know what to expect. Biscuits? Cards? Sketches? No, what Julia had prepared completely exceeded all expectations. To thank the cast and crew for the experience, she knitted the entire cast of The Crucible with an incredible attention to detail. Each poppet has its own distinctive feature or item that relates to Arthur Miller’s play, and comes with a stand featuring an individually selected quote from the script.

To see more of Julia Blake’s amazing handiwork, visit the gallery on the right hand side of this page. You’ll be able to see the creative use of a number of household items, from drinking straws to twigs.

You have until Friday 12 July to enter the draw to win the ultimate Crucible experience. The winner may get to see the poppets in person during their personal backstage tour.
