Wheelchair and mobility access
Facilities for wheelchair access and seating that allows more room for the use of mobility aids are available in all theatres. Please make your requirements known when booking.
Captioning and fm Hearing System
MTC provides captioning for selected productions. Dates are marked C in the Performance Diary. An FM hearing system is available for all performances in the Sumner Theatre, Playhouse and Fairfax Studio at no charge upon presentation of identification to theatre ushers. Audience members receive either a headset or neck loop enabling use of a hearing aid via the T-switch. Contact the Arts Centre on 03 9281 8000 (TTY 03 9281 8441), or the MTC Theatre on 03 8688 0800.

Audio Description And Tactile tours
Vision Australia provides audio description for people who are vision impaired. Collect the small receiver upon arrival at the theatre at no charge upon presentation of identification to theatre ushers. Please note that due to there being a finite number of receivers, please call Vision Australia at least one week prior to your performance to reserve one. There are also tactile tours of the stage prior to the Saturday matinee audio-described performances. Dates are marked A and T in the Performance Diary. Companion Card
Companion Cards are issued to people with a significant, permanent disability, who can demonstrate that they are unable to access most community activities and venues without attendant care support.
MTC offers Companion Card holders a free ticket for their companion to attend the performance and assist with their access needs.
If the Companion Card holder is also eligible for discounted tickets, such as Day Seats or Rush tickets, these may be purchased by their companion in advance at the designated times the tickets are released for sale. The Companion Card must be sighted at the time of purchase and tickets will be held for collection prior to the start of the performance at the MTC Theatre Box Office. Relevant concession cards and ID must also be sighted at the time of ticket collection.
