MTC HQ

Please note that MTC's Headquarters are no longer located at Ferrars St, South Melbourne.

Melbourne Theatre Company employs more than 65 permanent staff at its new Headquarters at 252 Sturt Street, Southbank. From this centre, the Company plans, promotes, rehearses and constructs its productions. The HQ includes administration offices, scenery workshops, a props department, a scenic art studio, a wardrobe department, an education department, a production office and a staff canteen. There are three rehearsal studios. Accommodation is also made for workers contracted for specific productions, such as actors, stage managers and designers.

Each year, our Education Department holds VCE workshops, a Summer School and Theatre Scholarship courses at our Sturt Street rehearsal rooms. School tours of our Headquarters can be arranged through our Education Department. For more information visit the education part of our website.

TRAM

Route 1 South Melbourne Beach - East Coburg (travels through city). Exit at stop 19 Miles St/Southbank or stop 20 Kings Way/Sturt St. MTC is located on Sturt St between these two stops.

Route 67 Carnegie - University of Melbourne (travels through St Kilda junction). Exit at stop 14 Southbank Blvd/St Kilda Rd and change to Route 1, exit at stop 19 Miles St/Southbank or stop 20 Kings Way/Sturt St. MTC is located on Sturt St between these two stops.

Route 8 Toorak - Moreland. Exit at stop 14 Southbank Blvd/ St Kilda Rd and change to Route 1, exit at stop 19 Miles St/Southbank or stop 20 Kings Way/Sturt St. MTC is located on Sturt St between these two stops.

Route 55 West Coburg - Domain Interchange (travels through City). Exit at stop 116 Kingsway/Sturt St. MTC is located down Sturt St heading away from South Melbourne.

BUS

Number 216 Caroline Springs to Brighton Beach. Exit at stop 15 Southbank Blvd. Walk down Southbank Blvd and cross over Sturt St. Turn left (ABC building should be on your right), cross over the Freeway off ramp then cross over Miles St, MTC Headquarters will be on the right.

Number 219 Sunshine Park - Gardenvale. Exit at stop 15 Southbank Blvd. Walk down Southbank Blvd and cross over Sturt St. Turn left (ABC building should be on your right), cross over the Freeway off ramp then cross over Miles St, MTC Headquarters will be on the right.
